Measurement of asphalt material using basic tests
The basic
tests on asphalt measures the consistency properties of cationic and anionic
emulsions using saybolt furol viscosity test in two different temperatures for
accuracy, the relative proportions of asphalt emulsions and the cement residue
using distillation test, the tendency of asphalt globules to settle down during
storage of emulsified asphalt using settlement test, the quantitative
percentage of asphalt cement present in the form of pieces, stings large
globules using sieve test, the measurement relative rate at which colloidal
asphalt globules break using demulsibility test, the percentage of retained
coagulated material on the sieve is determined using cement mixing test. The
above said measurements are made through the basic test of asphalt.
