Two methods of tightening high strength bolts:

Two methods used for tightening high strength bolts are as follows.

• Turn-off-the-nut method
• Calibrated wrench method

Turn off the nut method:

In this method a mark is made on the point of nut and the frame at same point. Cheater bar from 4 to 6 inch is used to tighten the nut with two points.

Calibrated wrench method:

This is not like a commonly used torque wrench. It works with the specifications of manufactures and the project engineers. During the construction the bolt and nut which needs to be tensioned is marked with the paint.
