Asphalt roofing material

The asphalt roofing materials are produced by the sheet material which may be either an organic felt sheet or an inorganic glass fiber mat. Both the sheet materials used in production are passed rough tear-strength and nail withdrawal tests. Generally organic shingles have higher tear and nail-withdrawal strengths. The architectural shingles has a random pattern and is easier to install than three tab shingle because the alignment is not a problem. Certain asphalt products which are used in this process are coated with mineral aggregate granules. The manufacturer distributes finely ground mica powder on the surfaces of rolled roofing and shingles to prevent their sticking together before they are used. During production, the material is rigidly inspected to ensure conformance with standards.
