Drones for Construction

Many companies like senseFly, Skycatch, Clayco, DroneDeploy etc., are still on their way to find solutions for their pre-developed software. I read many articles before writing this one. Why all the contents are relating to the applications and uses of drone with inspections and surveillance's only?

We can do more than inspections and surveillance using drones in construction industry.

As we all know that Auto-desk is a leading construction software platform which is helpful to design, draw, measure, and manipulate data digitally. Auto-desk simplifies the work for many bigger construction projects. The company recently joined with Skycatch to build a specialized drone equipment to scan and collect data from construction environment and save it in cloud storage spaces. Autodesk also developed cloud based design software called FORGE.

Apart from above said information’s here are some why cant? Questions that can be implemented on their further developments.

“We are still in the learning phase with our customers as to what data they really need to extract meaning,” he says. “There are still discoveries to be made.”

Drone Surveying always provides accurate measurements about the construction site. The data will be stored in cloud storage system. Where the Auto-desk Engineer will interpret the details stored on cloud system to design the structure. After designing the entire structure with all detailed calculations and measurements. This design data will be sent as activity information to the drone. Why can’t the infra-red beams or laser beams can be used for marking the building details like footing etc.,?

Like Amazon prime Air system it can carry about 25 KG weight. Why can’t we use drones to transport material in construction site? For High rise building Lifts and elevators can carry more weight and that needs some additional man power to load and unload the materials mean while drones are cost and time saving equipment.

We know that drone will capture and record real-time safety factors on the construction site. Why cant a drone programmed to send warning signs either in the form of sound or light?

Usually bill of materials for particular construction work can be calculated using Auto-desk Software like BIM. Why can’t we interconnect drone with Auto-desk software using cloud storage system and notify workers that how much materials should be shifted to the nearby working area?
