How to manufacture Light-Gauge Steel Framing Members
The light-gauge steel framing (for more details) members are manufactured with the help of framing accessories,
the accessories combines the individual joists to form as frames.
The accessories are as follows:
- End clips
- These end clips are meant to join the steel members which have to be
connected in right angles.
- Foundation clips
- The foundation clips holds (anchors) the entire frame and foundation
plate.
- Joist hanger
– The joist hanger connects the header and trimmer with a joist in between
them.
- Web stiffener
– The web stiffener is a small steel member (flanges with right angles)
which is inserted inside the joist and screwed vertically its web and
transfers the wall load axially.
- Bracing – Bracings are provides to stiffen the frame against lateral loads which are mainly wind loads and seismic loads. The bracings are of different types for example, V-Bracing, Flat Strap Bracing.
