Sequence of events to build the shell of a house using SIP construction:

- Connections of wall panels to the floor structure are done.
- Panels are mechanically fastened edge to edge.
- Wall panels are nailed or screwed to one another at the corners and all wall panels are tied together at the top with a continuous plate.
- Framing of upper floors are done with open web joists or wooden I-joists.
- Roof panels are installed similarly to wall panels.
- Open-web floor joists allow for easy routing of utilities through the floor structure.
